Biography

Christian Byhahn has been appointed extraordinary professor at the University of Oldenburg last year. Byhahn studied medicine in Frankfurt am Main. Since 2013 he is the chief physician at the Oldenburg Evangelical Hospital, from 1999 to 2013 he worked at the Clinic for Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Therapy at the University Hospital Frankfurt am Main and most recently since 2009 as managing director and senior physician. Byhahn has completed a vocational training as a rescue assistant, further training courses for emergency medicine and intensive care, as well as a graduate course "Business Administration for Physicians", which he completed with certification as a health economist.In 2012 the he received the "Michael-Strumpf-Rhetorikpreis". In 2008 he was awarded the prize for excellent teaching by the Faculty of Human Medicine at the University of Frankfurt. He is the author of numerous specialist articles as well as textbooks and has been responsible for expedition cruises and extreme sports events in polar regions for many years.
